About The Mettingham Orthodox Trust
Mettingham Orthodox Trust was founded in February 2012. From our base at the College of Our Lady of Mettingham, the trustees seek to promote a greater understanding and engagement with the Orthodox Christian faith through a variety of different activities including publishing, teaching and the organisation of events, services and pilgrimages.
Although under the omophorion of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Trust seeks to work in an entirely Pan-Orthodox way with different church communities: complementing existing Orthodox regional and national institutions for the general upbuilding of the whole Church in the East of England.
Through the generosity of our foundress, Mary Bond, of pious memory, the Trust will take on responsibility for the management of a variety of different assets including a traditional wooden purpose built Orthodox Church, dedicated to the Ikon of the Mother of God, Joy of All Who Sorrow as well as the ongoing development of the College, a large 19th Century Country house and estate, as an Orthodox spiritual and educational centre in the 21st century.
